Piergiorgio “George” L.E. Uslenghi (University of Illinois at Chicago)
Piergiorgio L. E. Uslenghi holds the positions of Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Adjunct Professor of Physics, Associate Dean of Engineering, and Director of the Andrew Electromagnetics Laboratory in the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has published extensively on electromagnetism, microwaves, antennas, scattering, novel electronic materials, optics, and applied mathematics. He was President of the Antennas and Propagation Society of IEEE, Chair of the United States National Committee of URSI, Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation and of Electromagnetics, and Founding Editor of the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters (AWPL). Dr. Uslenghi is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi, a Distinguished Alumnus of the Polytechnic of Turin, a Fellow of the EMP, a Life Fellow of IEEE, a recipient of the IEEE Third Millennium Medal and of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Distinguished Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Academy of Sciences of Turin, Italy in 2003, and was named University of Illinois Scholar in 2006 and Distinguished Professor in 2009.
